The American artist of Egyptian origin, Rami Malek, welcomed the press conference of the winners of the 2018 Oscars in these terms: "Welcome, a happy opportunity … enlightened".
"I am the son of the first generation of Egyptian immigrants," said Rami Malik, "We have music, art and a great civilization in Egypt and the Middle East."
Malik won the Oscar for Best Actor, announced Sunday at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, after battling Christian Bell, Bradley Cooper, Willem Dafoe and Figo Mortensen.

He was nominated for Best Actor Oscar for his role in "Bohemian Rhapsody" and the legendary character of musical legend Freddie Mercury, star of the British band Quinn.
