A team of researchers from the University of Toronto, Canada, has developed a set of micromagnetic clamps to plant a small robot in the human cell with extreme precision.
The robot takes the form of a tiny pill and can be used to study the properties of cancer cells, which could pave the way for many possibilities for diagnosis and treatment of the disease.
Dr. Soo Sun, head of the research team at the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Toronto, has been building micro-robots for nearly 20 years, and the new robot can perform various measurements of the cell .
"Until now, the robot has explored the external structure of the cell and is now trying to probe the cells inside," said Su Son.
