Roskomnadzor accused Russia and Facebook of violating the political advertising laws in force in the country. Both companies during the day of local elections, which took place yesterday.

On 6 September, Russia warned all platforms and social media networks against any political announcement at the time of the elections.

But it turns out that Google and Facebook have announced political announcements on September 8 – election time and on their various platforms.

The FTC did not talk much but said that this behavior of both companies is totally unacceptable.

After alerting about the existence of political ads, Google has decided to quickly remove all ads related to the problem on its platforms, such as YouTube and search engines, in order to comply with the laws in force in the country, she added.

The charge may be a warning to US companies, but sanctions are unlikely.
