The Russian ambassador to Damascus spoke of the positive impact of Syria's return to the League of Arab States.

The ambassador said in an interview with Sputnik: "The desire of the Arab countries to restore relations with Damascus is striking, and it is clear that Syria's return to the Arab family will have a significant positive impact in the context of international efforts to overcome the Syrian crisis.

"For this reason, we support the rapid return of Syria to the Arab League.

Arab leaders must discuss Syria's return to its Arab League headquarters at an Arab summit in Tunis next March. Tunisian President, Beji Kayed Sibsi, said in an interview published Jan. 29 in the Tunisian newspaper "Morocco" that Syria was the business of the next summit. The Tunis Summit will be organized in the best circumstances. Tunisia will adopt any decision taken by the Arab summit Syria.
