The neutron and gamma / adrenaline (ESA) detector of the Luna 25 probe will measure the moon's floor to a depth of 60 centimeters to study its components, said the chief scientist at the Russian Institute from space studies, Igor Mitrovanov.

"Nitrons soak the soil sufficiently to obtain a secondary radiation spectrum, which will allow us to know the soil components at this depth," Mitrovanov told the TASS news agency.

"The Adron instrument will evaluate the chemical elements of the lunar soil," said Mitrovanov, adding that the device was being tested and should be installed on the Luna 27 probe.

The Lunar 25 Lunar project aims to launch an automatic probe to conduct scientific studies in the Antarctic Lunar Zone. The probe is expected to land near the Boguslavsky volcanic crater.
