According to CNN, Salah criticized the Egyptian Football Association on some points, but stressed that the players also take responsibility for the failure of the 2019 African Cup of Nations.

Salah spoke about the upcoming period regarding the election of a new president of the Egyptian Football Federation, after the resignation of Hani Abu Rida and all of his council after the failure African Nations.
Salah wants to see several changes when a new president is elected.
"The next president of the football federation must be honest and forthright with himself and try to reform himself," he said.
"As a player in Egypt, players are not happy because of so many things, we hope that the new president of the federation will come and do things differently."
