MADRID: Egyptian footballer Masri Mohamed Salah has asked his club's management to let him go, a newspaper reported on Wednesday.
The Spanish newspaper "Marca", which Salah wants to leave Liverpool, because of the efforts of the latter to contract with the player of the Austrian Red Bull Salzburg, holder of the Israeli citizenship.
But the Egyptians denied the news and confirmed that Salah was focused on Liverpool, technically led by German coach Juergen Klopp, and that the best player in the Premier League of the previous season was not interested in the identity players likely to be part of his club.
Marka pointed out that these reports had caused great agitation in England, where the British media had begun to address the problem and talk about it.
Salah sparked much controversy during his career with the Swiss club Basel, when he refused to shake hands with Maccabi Tel Aviv Israel's players in a match between the two teams, stating that he was holding his shoes equal.
