Samsung launches its new “chargerless” phones … and these are their prices

(CNN) – Samsung’s new Galaxy S21 line of phones have an updated look and lower prices, but customers will also notice two items missing from the box: headphones and a charger.

At a digital press conference on Thursday, the company showcased three new Galaxy S21 smartphones in different sizes – 6.2in, 6.7in and 6.8in super.

Samsung introduced the faster Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor, advanced AI cameras, a new matte finish, and premium headphones that you can buy to go with it. All models have built-in G5 capabilities.

It is clear that the Ultra is a high end product from Samsung. And while the Galaxy S21 and 21+ have a new high-resolution flat panel display, the Ultra model takes it a step further with an ultra-high-resolution display. The device contains four rear cameras, compared to the three rear cameras of the other two devices.

All four cameras have a 12MP ultra-wide lens for landscape or group shots, a 108MP wide-angle lens for color clarity and accuracy, and two 10MP telephoto lenses that work together to magnify more shots.

As for the pricing of new Samsung phones, the S21 ($ 799) and S21 + ($ 999) models are $ 200 cheaper than the replaced models. And the S21 Ultra ($ 1,199) costs $ 300 less than its predecessor.

These prices are the same as for Apple’s iPhone line, although Ultra’s cost is $ 100 more than the iPhone 12 Pro Max.

The S21 and S21 + will be available in magenta, black, gray, white and pink, and the S21 Ultra will be available in black, silver, brown, titanium and dark blue for pre-order on Thursday.

All devices start shipping on January 29.

All three models support the S Pen used in the Samsung Note series, but all three models come without a charger, which the company says is for durability reasons. And Apple did something similar with the iPhone last year.

The improvements are actually improvements to the Galaxy line, the most important of which is camera technology.

As a nod to our new nature, Samsung is offering features that could be better suited to the home during the pandemic. This includes a default blue light filter which can help reduce eye strain when scrolling. Phones also offer deeper integration into home automation products.

The company’s annual Samsung event typically coincides with the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in February – the first major tech event that was canceled last year due to the pandemic.
