According to the latest report from Counterpoint Research, a market research firm, Samsung seems to be doing well in Central and Eastern Europe. The South Korean company has announced a 21% growth in smartphone sales and 8% per quarter.
These figures put Samsung in a favorable position in the market with a huge market share of 40%, also twice the market share of its closest competitor, Huawei.
Samsung's success in this part of Europe is mainly explained by the successful launch of Galaxy A Series phones earlier this year, which account for 70% of South Korean company's shipments. In addition, Huawei's ban has conferred an advantage on Samsung, which the South Korean company has exploited to take some of the lost market share against Huawei.
However, market analysts point out that Samsung should be cautious in the coming quarters as Chinese brands are particularly aggressive in this region. Xiaomi, for example, took third place at Apple and other Chinese companies such as Oppo, Vivo and Realme are looking to expand their presence on the old continent, especially in Eastern Europe, where consumers tend to buy smartphones, both economic and medium, which Chinese companies have many different options.
Not to mention that the Chinese market has stagnated for several consecutive quarters and that Chinese companies such as Huawei, Oppo, Vivo, OnePlus, Realme and Xiaomi are looking for new markets to continue their growth.
