The emiratization rate (the percentage of Saudis in total employment) in 7 economic activities of the Saudi private sector exceeded 50% at the end of the third quarter of last year 2020, according to the Al-Eqtisadiah newspaper.
The list of the seven economic activities includes: financial activities and insurance activities with a location rate of 83.6%, public administration, defense and compulsory social security 71.9%, activities of organizations and foreign organizations 71.5%, in addition to mining and quarrying activities 63.2%, education 52.9%, information and communication 50.7%, and supply of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning with a rate 50.6% localization.
In contrast, the sectors of agriculture, forestry, fishing, construction, administrative and support service activities, and the activities of the least settled households reached rates of 15.5%, 13 , 5%, 12% and 11.4% respectively.
It is understood by workers in the private sector that they are work participants who are subject to social insurance laws and regulations.
The Social Insurance Institution classifies private sector occupations into 21 economic activities: agriculture, forestry, fishing, mining and quarrying, with a location rate of 15.5%, manufacturing industries, 63.2%, and supply of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning 50.6%.
Added to this are water supply, sanitation activities, waste management and treatment 26.5%, construction 13.5%, wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles 23.4%, transport and storage 25.3%, and accommodation and food services 20.2%.
The classifications also include information and communication with a saudization rate of 50.7%, financial and insurance activities 83.6%, real estate activities 31.9%, professional, scientific and technical activities 29, 8%, administrative and support service activities 12%, public administration, defense and compulsory social security 71.9% and education 52.9%.
In addition to human health and social services activities with a location rate of 48.3%, arts, shows and entertainment 29.9%, other service activities 19.6%, household activities that employ individuals or produce non-distinctive goods and services, including 11.4%, and activities of foreign organizations and bodies 71.5%.
The Saudiization rate in the entire Saudi private sector at the end of the third quarter of 2020 is around 23.8%, where the number of Saudi workers is 2.03 million, out of a total of 8.5 million workers in the private sector, while non-Saudi workers account for 76.2% and 6.48 million workers.
