Saudi Arabia hosts key boxing bout this year

RIYADH, Dec. 7 (KUNA) – Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, chairman of the Saudi General Sports Authority, said on Tuesday that the fight between boxers Andy Ruiz Jr. and Anthony Joshua on December 7 is " the most important and most significant of this year ".

In a statement at the end of a press conference held Wednesday night in the historic Turaif neighborhood of Diriyah, south of Riyadh, Al-Faisal said:

"We were the hosts of this event after an effort that took about eight months to compete with developed countries and some cities and capitals."

Mexican boxers Ruiz and Joshua arrived in Riyadh on Wednesday to prepare for the showdown.
