Energy Minister Khalid al-Faleh, quoted by the Saudi official news agency, was quoted as saying on Thursday that "large quantities" of gas had been found in the Red Sea.
Saudi Aramco is intensifying its exploration activities over the next two years after confirmation of the feasibility study of the investment, said Al-Falih.
He added that Aramco has "promising opportunities" for acquisitions in Russia, India, Pakistan and Indonesia, as well as projects in the field of gas liquefaction in the United States.
He added that Aramco was looking to invest in South Africa, where he was considering buying a petrochemical project.
