He said: “The project is one of my projects that I undertook while in the United States of America, where I collected data on the crime rate in the city in which I ‘ve lived, because the number of such data has exceeded one million records from 2010 to 2018, and this project aims to analyze and know the best places. “Suitable for housing during the period of the master’s degree, and a project of ‘study was proposed, where I formed a team to work, and after the completion of the project, it was noticed that the total number of crimes in which guns were used in the city exceeded 75,930 case in the eight years, and that is only for one city of a group of cities in the state. “
He added: “Given the large number of cases of gun use, the idea came up what the number would be if I collected this data for all cities in all states of America, I I therefore collected other data, which would help reduce the crime rate and speed up the process of analyzing forensic evidence. The idea for the project was presented to Professor. Yujiang Lee, who works in the Department of Forensic Evidence. computer and electrical engineering from the University of Missouri, and who then became the project supervisor for a year, held several meetings with people from the Kansas City Police Department to take information on the procedures in the event of a crime involving weapons or the like, as revealed by Agent Hamill. Among the procedures carried out is the collection of forensic evidence such as bullets or its discharges and sending it to forensic laboratories to find out what kind of weapons were used included in the crime, and to carry out a number of other analyzes which can be obtained in case of urgent need, which can contribute to the exit of the perpetrator from the country or Other things occur which interfere with the progress of investigation, and in case the matter is not important, it may take 6-8 months.
He pointed out that the program he designed works on using artificial intelligence and extracting these scans in seconds, which can take days in urgent cases or months in non-urgent cases. .
And he indicated that his project does not depend on knowledge of the types of weapons, since it has many advantages, such as detection of the whereabouts of bullets, bullet holes with counting their number, detection of the presence of dead bodies if any, and some evidence such as footprints, and having an efficient and rapid system used in the program. Many artificial intelligence algorithms and choose the best among them.
He noted that he was using the latest algorithms used in deep learning to achieve rapid results, and that this project might not end there, as it can be used to alert the police department to the existence of a cases of carrying a weapon in public or commercial places to avoid an increase in the crime rate.
Dabbah mentioned that he has participated in a number of hackathon forums in the United States of America to develop projects with the participation of large companies such as IBM, H&R Block, SS&C Technologies and others, and It received the third place with the Scientific Research Forum Award at Jazan University 1436 for Immigration, and the ninth place with the Scientific Research Forum Award at Jazan University 1435 Immigration. It has worked with the College of Computer Unit on its website and the success of its activities and forums for over two years. He also worked in the Innovation, Cognitive Creativity and Entrepreneurship unit with the team of the unit responsible for the creation of Badir Incubator, of the “Fablab” innovation laboratory, and was a member of the forum’s Executive Committee.
