A Saudi student injured during an attack on two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand, during Friday prayers, recounted the moments of terror that he experienced when three people attacked the faithful with gun.

Saudi student Aseel Al-Ansari said in statements on Friday by Al-Arabiya Net that "the attacker fired first on the imam of the mosque, then began shooting indiscriminately on the faithful."

Ansari said that "the second mosque targeted by the attack is 4 km from the mosque where he was wounded", noting that the second mosque was attacked by 3 people.

The father of the wounded Aseel Ansari revealed in a television interview the nature of the details of what had been exposed to his son, stating: "The attack coincided with the presence of his son in the mosque, where he went and went to a house. "

He said his son, a New Zealand student, "was shot dead after leaving the house where he took refuge, where he was injured."

He explained that "the health status of his son is stable, in accordance with the assurances of the embassy of the Kingdom, and will constitute an operation after the completion of the necessary tests".

Earlier Friday, the Saudi Embassy in New Zealand said: "As part of the pursuit of two mosques in Christchurch, two Saudi nationals were injured and their health ensured."
