Scientists believe that the planet “GG 1132b”, appeared as a gaseous planet like Jupiter and Saturn, with a dense hydrogen atmosphere.

The planet lost its atmosphere during the first hundred million years of its formation, due to intense radiation from its host star, which revolves around it once every 1.6 days.

The planet has reconfigured a new atmosphere due to volcanic activity on its surface, according to the British newspaper “Daily Mail”.

Scientists from NASA and the University of Cambridge used the Hubble Telescope and simulation models to explore how the planet lost its atmosphere and then restored it.

The new atmosphere is made up of molecules of hydrogen, hydrogen cyanide and methane and also contains aerosol mist.

Paul Reimer of the University of Cambridge considered the formation of the second atmosphere to be a unique phenomenon that calls for study and investigation, adding: “The discovery leads us to wonder about the formation of other rocky planets, because their origin is likely to be carbonated. “

Scientists have pointed out points of similarity between the Earth and the discovered planet, as they both have almost similar masses, in addition to their estimated age of 4.5 billion years, in addition to their early formation. an atmosphere dominated by hydrogen.

The two planets were also very hot before finally cooling down, and atmospheric pressure is similar on their surfaces.
