MedicalXpress reports that, according to Professor Canis Fatima Shad of the Catholic University of Australia, the thymoquinone in this plant can bind to the S protein of the SARS-CoV-2 virus and prevent it from infecting the lungs. This substance can also prevent the onset of the cytokine storm, which is seen in people with a severe form of “Covid-19”.
The professor adds that thymoquinone prevents the release of inflammatory chemicals such as interleukin. That is, it can be used to treat allergies, asthma, eczema, arthritis and even multiple sclerosis.
This herb can also be useful in the treatment of high blood pressure, cholesterol, and even diabetes.
