NEW YORK (Reuters) – A new study suggests Saturn has been flying alone for billions of years or so, before getting its incredible rings.

According to Auchchidpres, an Italian team in the journal Science reported that the first rings of Saturn would seem to rise to 10 to 100 million years ago.
Saturn is about 4.5 billion years old, like all the other planets in the solar system.
This information is due to NASA's Cassini probe observations during its flight around Saturn and its rings in 2017, before the end of its work.

By evaluating the mass of the rings using gravimetric measurements, the scientists determined their age. It is still unclear how the ice rings formed.
"The facts are another gift from this beautiful space mission," said Luciano Ace, principal investigator at the University of Sabinza in Rome.
