The Minister of Islamic Affairs of the Republic of the Maldives, Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Samil and the Minister of Islamic Affairs of the Republic of Maldives, Dr. Ahmed Zaher Ali, signed on Friday a project to build the mosque of the guardian of the Maldives. Two Holy Mosques, King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz, which will be the largest mosque in the Maldives. 10,000 serums at a time with the outer squares, located in the Maldivian capital Malé.
In details, he said during his visit to the Maldives to sign the executive program of the memorandum of understanding signed in the field of Islamic Affairs between the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Da & Wah and Guidance in Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Islamic Affairs of the Republic of Maldives.
Dr. Al-Samil and the accompanying delegation visited the project, symbol of the close relationship between the two sister countries, as well as a meeting at its headquarters, during which he listened to the steps of the project and highlight the activities that will be implemented in the coming period.
It should be noted that the project in its first phase began its work early last year, in 2018. The project, of which Saudi Arabia has obtained about 24.95 million dollars, amounts to 41,500 square feet, includes six floors, four elevators and 44,100 square feet of parking.
The project includes the King Salman Grand Mosque in the Maldives, multipurpose halls, a world-class library, Koranic teaching center, classrooms and a conference room.
