Hamdi, former Ahli striker, announced Monday his retirement from football because of a cut in the cruciate ligament of the knee.

Al-Sayyed said during a talk on the radio that he was unable to continue because of the difficulty of hurting the Crusader to decide to end his 17-year career.

The 35-year-old forward has played for several teams such as Arab Contractors, Lake Buhaira, Tanta, Petrojet, Al Ahly, Egypt, Egyptian Churches, Interior and Arsenal.

Mr. Hamdy has been crowned Africa Cup of Nations 2010 with Egypt.

Mr. Hamdy has won several championships with the Al-Ahly club, where he was crowned with the red team for the title of the 2013/2014 Premier League season. Club World "Twice" and has played 4 games and scored only one goal.
