The match between Guadalajara and Toluca (1-0) in the third round of the Mexican football league sparked controversy.
Guadalajara's goal was scored by Alan Pulido in the 56th minute.
The end of the match was "dramatic" when one of Toluca's players hit the ball on goalkeeper Chávez's line Raul Godinho.
The referee used the VAR technique to determine if the ball had cut the entire perimeter of the line and needed 8 full minutes to make the decision to deny the guests the equalizer.
Guadalajara has won its third consecutive victory and is now leading the Mexican league with nine points.
While Toluca suffered the first defeat of the new season, against two wins.
