The Lebanese military court sentenced the artist, Fadel Shaker, to 22 years in prison with hard labor.

The second ruling sentenced Shakir to seven years’ imprisonment in addition to hard labor, with deprivation of his civil rights and a fine of five million Lebanese pounds, for financing the< groupe de prisonniers >> armed, spent on its members and insured the cost of weapons and munitions of war.
Two other decisions
It should be noted that the military court had rendered two other judgments in absentia against Shakir, the first in February 2016, who sentenced him to five years in prison and a fine of 500,000 pounds for attacking a sister country during an interview he conducted from Ain al-Hilweh camp in 2014.
The tribunal said Shakir’s statements during the interview lead to “disrupting Lebanon’s relations with an Arab country, fueling conflict and damaging the reputation of the military establishment.”
The second decision was handed down against Shaker in September 2017, in the “Abra Events” case, where he was sentenced to 15 years in prison plus hard labor.
