The researchers identified 65 suitable studies in 21 countries, involving a total of 97,333 health workers.
The study pointed out that when collecting and statistically analyzing data from all the studies, “the researchers estimated that 21.7% of health workers participating in the studies suffered from depression during the outbreak, 22, 1% suffered from anxiety and 21.5% suffered from a disorder. after a shock “.
Studies in the Middle East have shown the highest combined rates of depression at 34.6% and anxiety at 28.9%, indicating that the pandemic has significantly affected the mental health of healthcare workers.
