Stressing the depth of bilateral relations between the two countries
The MUSCAT – Oman-Egypt Joint Committee held its 14th session, which was held under the auspices of the Sultanate, which lasted two days.
The Omani side was chaired by Yousuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shukri.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the existing bilateral relations and expressed satisfaction with the level reached by these relations, supported by the leaders of the two sister countries, His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said and his brother, the President Sisi, President of Egypt, Which took place in Muscat in February of last year 2018 during the visit of His Excellency the Sultanate, during which they emphasized the importance of progress in strengthening bilateral cooperation in all areas of politics, economics, trade, industry, judiciary, development and education. educational and labor force and public service .. and other areas that will open new horizons for this cooperation so as to achieve the aspirations of the hopes of both countries.
Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to joint Arab action based on cooperation, integration, mutual respect and good neighborliness aimed at strengthening the foundations of stability and sustainable development in the Arab region, expressing their solidarity with the just Arab issues and opposing any attempt to undermine national sovereignty and the unity and security of the Arab countries.
The Egyptian side emphasized the role played by the Sultanate under the supreme leadership of His Majesty, God willing, to bring security and peace to its regional and international environment.
For its part, the Omani side praised the leading role played by Egypt under the wise leadership of His Excellency President Sisi in order to achieve security and stability at the regional and international levels and the efforts deployed by His Excellency the President to establish peace, security and development on the African continent.
Both parties affirmed their rejection of extremism and terrorism in all its forms, regardless of its justifications, motives and means, as well as the importance of concerted regional and international efforts to combat terrorism and terrorism. against the phenomenon of takfiri groups and to eradicate their causes, while promoting dialogue between nations and peoples and promoting the values of equality, tolerance and coexistence.
The two parties signed memorandums of understanding and implementation programs between the two countries 'ministries of health and an executive program between the two countries' environment and climate ministries from 2019 to 2020, highlighting the importance of continuing and strengthening cooperation and activating them.
The two parties also signed an executive program between the Ministry of Education of the Sultanate and the Ministry of Education of the Arab Republic of Egypt between 2019 and 2021, as well as a program implementation between the Ministries of Labor of the two countries for the period 2019-2020 and a program of cooperation in the field of specifications. Quality and mutual recognition of certificates of conformity of non-food industrial products between the Government of the Sultanate and the Government of Egypt.
At the end of the meeting, HE Sameh Shukri, Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, expressed his joy and the delegation that accompanied him to visit the Sultanate, in addition to inviting Yousuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah, Minister Delegate Foreign Affairs to travel to Egypt to attend the 15th session of the meeting.
The Egyptian Foreign Minister arrived in the country on the eve of the two-day official visit, during which he will lead his country's delegation to the meeting of the Oman-Egypt Joint Committee.
