Spain won the World Basketball Championship in China after beating Argentina in the final on Sunday, 95-75.

This is the second time that Spain won the World Cup after the first in 2006, while Argentina won the second silver after 2002, leaving the account blocked for the only title won in 1950.

The first quarter ended in Spain's favor by nine points 23-14 and was the strongest of the start, with a 14-2 lead in the first four minutes and 25 seconds.

The second quarter did not differ much as Spain widened the gap (31-14) and Argentina was trying to come back, before Marc Gasol's comrades finished at 12 points 43-31 and a quarter (20-17).

Mark Gasol made a rare feat the same year by winning the basketball World Cup with his country and the NBA title he had won with his Canadian team, the Toronto Raptors.

France finished third in the tournament, winning the bronze medal at the expense of its Australian rival, beating it 67-59 in the standings in Beijing.

The French team, who made a big surprise in the quarterfinals by eliminating the American team champion of the last two versions, beat the Australian opponent, who lost in the semi-final against Spain, despite a delay of nine points (21-30) at the end of the first semester.
