Today, Sunday, the exchange rate of the dollar against the pound fell at most banks operating in Egypt, coinciding with discussions about the emergence of a new strain of the emerging corona virus.
The price drop came today from its level last Thursday.
The sharp drop came from the value of 4 piastres in the International Commercial Banks, Al-Baraka, Crédit Agricole, the Suez Canal, Alexandria and Construction and Housing, at 15.62 pounds for purchase and 15.72 pounds for the sale.
At the National Bank and the Misr Bank, the price of the US currency fell by one cent, registering 15.63 pounds to buy and 15.73 pounds to sell.
Likewise, the dollar price has fallen from 3 piastres at the Bank of Cairo and the African Arab Bank to 15.62 pounds buying and 15.72 pounds selling.
This came as the dollar moved in Abu Dhabi Islamic to £ 15.68 buy and £ 15.78 sell.
