WASHINGTON (Reuters) – French researchers have published a large-scale study on the potential health effects of prepared and highly processed foods and concluded that there is no serious risk of eating them.
Foods are classified as highly recyclable according to the NOVA classification if they are subject to industrial conversion channels and contain special amounts of additives.
This category does not include dishes prepared without additives, hardened or not … However, dishes prepared for heating, soft drinks and snacks are generally included in this classification. They contain large amounts of salt or sugar and contain few vitamins and fibers.
The new study, which covers tens of thousands of French people followed between 2009 and 2017, has shown a slight correlation between the consumption of highly processed foods and the risk of death during this period.
