The study, published in the Journal of Psychiatry Research, included more than 32,000 US nurses, 55 years old on average, who had previously participated in a large study of nurses' health and reported their lifestyle in terms of sleep and waking (early, middle and late). The researchers found that the risk of depression decreased by 27% among women who followed an early lifestyle, compared to women who followed a late lifestyle.
