Study: Snoring Causes Memory Problems

A recent study found that people with snoring may have difficulty restoring the memory of the past. Snoring is a disease or symptom that many suffer for a number of reasons, a condition that can indirectly affect public health. This is known medically, but the new thing is that snoring has an effect on memory.

The study, led by Dr. Melinda Jackson of RMIT University in Australia, found that people with obstructive sleep apnea, the main cause of snoring, could not recall memories of recent years and had difficulty remember the details.

Whenever a person is suffering from sleep apnea, and therefore snoring, his throat contracts to block the airways, which also cuts oxygen access to the brain .

Researchers believe that this destroys the gray matter in the important part of the brain responsible for recording memories. Men are therefore strongly advised to seek a cure for snoring.
