The Verge, a tech news site, reported that a sudden malfunction occurred on WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger on Friday.
The “Downdetector.com” website showed that nearly one million users reported problems using “Instagram”, while about 20 thousand reported problems with “WhatsApp”.
The company told “Facebook” that its services were suffering from problems, after complaints from about a million people around the world about malfunctions of the company-owned “Instagram” app.
A unit of the company said on Twitter: “Several teams are working to resolve (the outage), and we will bring you further updates as soon as possible.”
The “Downdetector” site monitors malfunctions by compiling status reports from multiple sources, while a larger number of users may experience service disruption.
