European scientists have proved that excessive sugar consumption in childhood helps to develop the drug addict desire to drink alcohol in young people.

A study of dietary habits of 16,000 people in 8 European countries found that excessively sweet and obese children in their childhood were more likely to drink regularly in the future than their peers who did not overeat such foods. This sugar causes the production of dopamine in the brain responsible for happiness, noting that alcohol and drugs have the same effect.

The scientists said that love or dislike for sweets contributed to the development of other relationships where they had observed, during the experiment, that those who had not no tendency to drink too much alcohol drank excessively sweets and drank sweet water.
