This is not the first experience of Jaber Al-Qarmouti in the world of singing, since he has released two songs over the past year, through his official page, the last of which was the song “Bakra We Live “to deal with the harassment in Egypt, in cooperation with the National Council of Women, but the choice of Al-Qarmouti of a lyrical youthful color, made the current experience a substitute for the public discourse of social media in the last hours.

Inspirational trend

The Egyptian journalist reveals the reasons for having this different experience, explaining that the subject covered in his new song was mainly about the forty-year-old woman, a subject which has been used on Twitter in Egypt in recent days “, after reading the discussions between men and women on this topic, between Supporting and belittling women, I found the topic inspiring to talk about it to the public. “

Al-Qarmouti told “Sky News Arabia”: “I was provoked by the downsizing of some women after completing their fourth decade of life, and I was impressed with the courage of women to respond, so I decided to simulate these discussions through a song based on the idea of a debate between two parties, one of which persuades the other at the end. “In which I play the role of a man who reduces women, in front of a woman who defeats my ideas with her weighty argument, and as I currently do not have the opportunity to appear on a media platform to interact with societal issues, I chose this method.

Al-Qarmouti also explained that he was looking for a singing partner, also via Twitter, to represent the female voice in this work of art, provided she is over forty, to express what she is experiencing, in a real and honest way, to strongly influence the public, and the choice fell on the singer Mayada Nasri.

He continued, “The song is a mixture of oriental music and rap music, and I myself composed part of it through the oud, while the section on rap helped me write it and distribute it. Two young men under the age of twenty were impressed by their talent for expressing, and they were a strong addition to the work, which lasts approximately 3 minutes.

Al-Qarmouti stressed that the song is based on self-production, and everyone has volunteered in this work for what they can offer.

Musicians union

Critics are divided in such incidents, between supporters and opponents, between those who believe that art cannot be presented, those who specialize in it, and those who see that art is no one’s own, and that the judgment is on the quality of the artistic product only when it is released.

Al-Qarmouti said: “I am not a singer, but rather a performer and an oud lover, and if the song is successful, I can take the exams of the Union of Musical Professions, and it will be a great honor. for me to be a member of this great union. “

In the same context, art critic Tariq Al-Shennawi said he marveled at those who attacked Al-Qarmouti’s song, before its release, simply because it is not academic or specialist, ” judgment is solely on the artistic producer, not the creator. “

Al-Shennawi added to “Sky News Arabia”: “Al-Qarmouti’s choice of rap” is totally successful, especially with the success of this lyrical color currently in Egypt, and its dissemination among the group of young people, and so on. It is important for the presenter of the artistic work to choose the factors that help him to be successful very carefully.

Al-Shennawi stressed that ideas presented by Al-Qarmouti in recent years outside the box during its media work will make audiences more receptive to the song upon its release.

It should be noted that Al-Qarmouti always presents different ideas through his programs, the most famous of which was in recent times, his representative dialogue with the Corona virus, where he did a “make-up” for one of his program members, in the scientific form of the virus, to tell him about what he’s done to the world in his usual sarcastic way.

For his part, Egyptian journalist Jaber Al-Qarmouti agrees with art critic Tariq Al-Shennawi regarding the absence of an art monopoly for professionals and academics only, stressing that the art lover art may be able to produce a strong and honest work of art that touches the audience and succeeds in achieving the message it was made for, even if it is not. He specialized in the art he chose to express the idea.

Warnings and Concerns

Al-Qarmouti explained that many people close to him, whether family or friends, warned him of this step, but he insisted on having the experience and said: “Life is a risk, and I’m always ready to knock on the livelihood door in my own way, and my different ideas, and if this song is successful, I will feature more songs in the next few days, and you have already prepared the topic for the next song, and it will be on a woman’s problem like well, and if it fails, I won’t go on like this, and judgment will be in the hands of the public alone.

He concluded, “I hope the song will receive the admiration of the audience, and I’m not looking for the trend, or catching the spotlight, I might have thought about it, at the start of my career, but I already have my current share of stardom, and the public know me well, but I try to have various experiences, and that’s my way of managing life, and I’m more prone to take risks no matter what. consequences, because there is something that a person can learn as long as they try and try. “
