The “Daily Mail” newspaper reported that Taliban militants attended the final soccer league match in Herat, Afghanistan, then presented the championship trophy to the winning team as part of a campaign to improve his image.

The “Marca” newspaper reported that the match took place on Friday, four days after the “Taliban” entered Kabul, and that hundreds of supporters were in the newly renovated stadium.

The match was between the “Attack Energy” and “Hart Money Charger” teams, and the “Attack” team won 1 – 0 by scoring a penalty.

The “Daily Mail” reported that the “Taliban” were doing their best to correct their image since they advanced towards the Afghan capital, Kabul, last week.
