Tarek Sulaiman, coach of Al-Ahli's first team goalkeeper, explained how Mohamed Al-Shennawi played the goalkeeper in the Algerian youth game Al-Saoura despite an incomplete recovery.

Al-Shennawi was injured in the final match against the Vita Club Congolese, whose medical examinations revealed a twisting of the ankle of the foot, but who nevertheless mainly participated in the match.

"The technical team made the decision to participate in the match on Saturday morning and we did not risk it," Tarek Sulaiman told Al Ahly after the match.

"We met Khalid Mahmoud and the medical staff, and although his ankle was 100% incorrect, he was injected with a house so he could participate in the crucial confrontation," he said.

"Thank goodness, the bullets that came to him in the match were not too many and were not serious, and he did address the bullets that reached him."

Red Bull defeated JS Sarra 3-0 unanswered in Saturday's game at Borg el-Arab Stadium in Alexandria, to qualify for the quarter-finals of the African Championship.
