CHICAGO (Reuters) – Singer R Kelly has been accused of sexually assaulting at least three minors under the age of 17 after years of uncertainty about the Grammy-winning singer and singer.

The lawyer of the 52-year-old singer was not contacted nor sent by email to comment.

Kelly is scheduled to appear in court on Saturday to hear the 10 charges against him, Cook County prosecutor Kimberly Fox told a news conference to announce the charges. Three out of four sexual assault victims between 1998 and 2010 were under 17 at the time, she said.

Among the victims, there were minors, while the court documents do not clearly indicate whether the other two are men or women.

If convicted, Kelly, whose real name is Robert Kelly, is sentenced to three to seven years imprisonment for each count.

At a press conference held in January, Fox had asked anyone who was allegedly assaulted by Kelly to disclose it so that his allegations could be investigated. Fox made these comments after a six-hour documentary titled "Surviving R Kelly" on LiveTime.

Many women appear in the movie accusing Kelly of sexually assaulting them.

The movie sparked a wave of anger against social media when it aired. Lady Gaga, who recorded a song with Kelly, vowed to no longer cooperate with him.

Kelly, the owner of the famed Ilev Bei Kan Fly, denies the sexual assault charges made for years, including the documentary's allegations.

Kelly has won a Grammy three times and has a proven track record with other successes such as Pamp in Grenad and Eur Padez Collin.

In her autobiography, Kelly claims that a 10-year-old woman sexually assaulted him while he was an eight-year-old boy in Chicago, where he grew up.
