The Speaker of the Arab Parliament, Meshaal Bin Fahim Al-Salami, has supported the initiative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to create an entity for the Arab States overlooking the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.

Al-Salami said in a press release that the launch of the exercise "Red Wave 1", which includes seven Arab countries: "Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, Sudan, Yemen, Djibouti and Somali observers constitutes a milestone important in securing the Red Sea and its important strategic opportunities.

Al-Salami praised the role played by the Kingdom in organizing the meeting that led to the creation of this important entity and its central role in the delicate circumstances of the Arab world, in order to strengthen cooperation and coordination between Arab countries and maintain security, peace and stability in the region and the world.

The Speaker of the Arab Parliament stressed that the importance of this entity lies in the fact that it constitutes a fundamental pillar in the preservation of Arab national security and a tool for constructive cooperation between Arab countries bordering the sea. Red and Gulf of Aden, which constitutes an important strategic step for the protection of the territorial waters of the Arab countries, is of great importance for the economy of Arab countries and international trade, by 13% of total world trade.

The Speaker of the Arab Parliament stated that the establishment of this entity would contribute to development, investment and trade among the Arab countries bordering the Red Sea, strengthen coordination among Arab countries in all areas in order to meet the challenges facing the Arab world.
