The Jeddah astronomical society said the moon was arriving Friday night, the last phase of quadrature, at 17:56 Saudi time, cutting three-quarters of its orbit around the Earth during the month.

The chief of the Jeddah astronomer, Majed Abuzahra, said on the Facebook page of the Society that the last moon in quadrature will shine after midnight and that it will be observed high in the sky dome in conjunction with the early sunrise tomorrow Saturday with the blue sky background and will remain facing west after local time.

He added that it is known that the moon revolves around the Earth once every four weeks and that the result is the cycle of its phases from the right and the first quadrature passing through the growing hump then the full moon , then decreasing and then the last quadrature and returning to the crematorium every 29.5 days.

According to engineer Abuzahra, this movement also means that the moon is moving rapidly in the sky. From night to next night, the moon cuts the moon 13 degrees into the dome of the sky, making it shine and set late by about an hour each day.

The astronomer of Jeddah pointed out that the last quadrature period, in which appear only half of the moon and the other dark, is considered the perfect time to observe the topography of the moon using binoculars or a small telescope because the mountains, craters and the like are very clear, especially along the line separating between the bright side and the dark side, due to the overlap from light and shadows, you get a three-dimensional view, which is an ideal opportunity for surveillance and photography.

He added that in a few days, the distance between the moon and the sun would be reduced in the dome of the sky, until the moon becomes the crescent phase of the end of the month and that it is observed shortly before sunrise for its appearance in conjunction with the month of Muharram 1441H.
