Al-Maliki: Targeting Global Energy Supply and Security
The spokesperson for the coalition forces “Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen”, Brigadier General Turki Al-Maliki, said that in reference to the statement issued by the Energy Ministry about a fire in a fuel tank at the petroleum distribution station in Jeddah, the Iranian-backed Houthi terrorist militia was implicated in this. The cowardly terrorist attack, which does not target the Kingdom’s national capabilities, but rather targets the nerve center of the global economy and its supplies as well as global energy security.
Brigadier General Al-Maliki explained that this terrorist attack is an extension of terrorist acts targeting oil installations in (Abqaiq and Khurais), which were adopted by the Houthi militia, and evidence and evidence has proven the implication of the Iranian regime in these terrorist attacks using specific Iranian weapons (cruise drones and explosives).
Brigadier General Al-Maliki said that the systematic and deliberate targeting of civilians and civilian objects, including economic facilities, violated international humanitarian law and its customary rules and amounted to crimes of war.
Brigadier General Al-Maliki asserted that the Coalition Joint Forces Command was taking the necessary operational measures to protect civilians and civilian objects, and that the terrorist elements planned and executed for these hostile and terrorist operations against civilians and civilian objects will be held responsible in accordance with international humanitarian law and its customary rules.
