The Indian film "Chhapaak", which takes the name of "Splash" in theaters next year, should be broadcast, but what a surprise it is for the audience?
The film, based on a true story, tells the story of a girl named Laxmi Agarwal, whose famous actress, Deepika Badukun, was deformed at the age of 14 after refusing to marry a man twice as old.
The film is one of the first to address cases of misrepresentation in India: in 2016, 206 attacks were recorded, according to the Indian National Bureau of Crimes and Offenses.
"This character will always be with me forever," she said.
The followers of Paducone expressed their feelings of surprise and others praised the transformation. One of the faithful commented on his Twitter account: "It's courage, it's hope, it's Debeka Badukun like # Malti. #Chhapaak ".
Agarwal has campaigned for tougher laws regarding the sale of acid in India, as well as on the catwalks of New York Fashion Week and the US State Department's International Women of Courage Award.
