Terengganu's Malaysian goalkeeper, Mohammad Sufyan Abdul Rahman, died Saturday of a heart attack at age 41, causing grief to his team.
The Malaysian international has left life just hours before his team's match against Terengganu at this year's Malaysian Cup against Nigerian Sembilan on Saturday.
The late goalkeeper won the match 3-1 and the players offered a victory to teammate Sufian.
The goalkeeper made 13 appearances for Terengganu in the Malaysian Premier League last season, according to Sky News.
He made his debut in Malaysia for the first time in a friendly against Cambodia in 2007 after replacing goalkeeper Azizon Abdul Qadir. Sufyan was in the team for the finals of the 2007 Asian Cup.
Sufyan was a key participant in the 2018 Malaysian Cup when the team qualified for the final, tying 4-1 against Perak on penalties, after a 3-3 draw in the regulatory time.
