The death of South African Phil Massinga
Former South African international striker Phil Massinga has died at 49, the South African Football Association announced Sunday.
Massinga served at Leeds United between 1994 and 1996 and also played for St Gallen in Switzerland, Salernitana and Bari in Italy.
"It's a sad day for South African football," said South African Football Association President Danny Jordan.
"He is a loyal football player both inside and outside the stadium."
