(Reuters) – A diet consisting of red meat, fat and sugar, excluding vegetables and fruits, kills half a million Americans and 90,000 Britons each year, according to a study recent American.
This "deadly diet" excels as risk factors for premature death in the use of tobacco and high blood pressure, reported the Daily Mail.
Experts warned of the danger of a "Western diet", a diet rich in red meat, fat and sugar, which reduces fruits and vegetables, claiming that they were at the # 39, the cause of the death of one in five people in 2017.
The latest data showed that about 11 million people worldwide died from diseases caused by these deadly fevers in 2017.
China and India recorded the largest number of diet-related deaths each year, with more than 3 million deaths and 1 million people respectively, followed by Russia with 550,000.
The United States ranked fourth, while the United Kingdom ranked 18th.
"The study confirms that malnutrition is responsible for the largest number of deaths compared to other risks," said co-author Dr. Christopher Murray.
"The major dietary risk factors are the consumption of large amounts of unhealthy foods," said Murray, director of the Institute of Health Metrology at the University of Washington.
He recommended eating whole grains, fruits, nuts, seeds and vegetables and reducing sugars, fats and foods high in salt.
The "deadly diet" is at the origin of cardiovascular diseases, strokes and heart attacks.
