Monday evening, Facebook completely disappeared from the Internet, a few hours after its failure, before resuming work.
The site was unreachable because a message popped up that it was not available, and other times something was wrong and the tech team was working to fix the fault.
Thousands of users have reported on the Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram platforms that they cannot access its services, while Facebook has confirmed that it is working on fixing the bug and has issued an “apology.”
“We understand that some people have difficulty accessing our applications and products. We are working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible and apologize for any inconvenience,” the company said in a statement via Twitter.
It was reported that Facebook’s platforms were back up and running “slowly” five hours after the blackout hit users around the world.
