NASA has announced the discovery of a planet outside a new solar system resembling the planet Saturn, thanks to the information sent by the new satellite (TESS).
NASA scientists, who study the stars with their colleagues around the world, collaborated to discover a planet called TOI (197.01), the first planet to be recognized by the new satellite, according to the British Daily Express.
Scientists have described the planet as "Saturn Hot" precisely because it is the same size as Saturn. In 14 days, the planet completes its orbit around its star. So it is very hot and so is about 5 billion years old. It is bigger and heavier than the sun.
Steve Kowler, professor of physics and astronomy at the University of Iowa, said it was only an overview of what TESS could do.
The TESS satellite was launched on April 18 from the Cape Canaveral Air Base in Florida, whose main purpose was to search for planets outside our solar system and possibly provide more leads to help discover an exotic life. .
By mid-2020, TESS will sweep around 85% of the sky.
