A study by researchers at the University of Chicago in the United States, that the planet Mars contained larger and stronger rivers than on the ground today, and that it's Was formed more than a billion years ago.
After seeing the latest photos taken by NASA, scientists also believe that the Martian rivers have disappeared earlier than expected.
According to the British newspaper "Daily Mail", the existence of water in the past has always intrigued the surface of Mars scientists: due to the leanness of the Martian atmosphere.
The surface of Mars is also exposed to about a third of the sunlight to which the Earth is exposed today, which does not provide enough heat to prevent freezing of water.
The new study, however, suggests that the huge rivers on Mars could be due to heavy rains and greenhouse gas emissions that have sufficiently elevated the temperature of the planet.
The results of the study indicate that precipitation continued to rush to the surface of Mars, even with the loss of the red planet from its atmosphere a billion years ago.
The University of Chicago team concluded that the rivers of the planet Mars were twice as wide as the rivers of the Earth, after the discovery of the effects of runoff about a billion years ago.
