The exchange rate of the dollar was about 16.45 pounds for the purchase and 16.55 pounds for sale in the banks of the National Bank of Egypt, Cairo, the United Bank, the Arab Bank Investment Bank, the Suez Canal Bank and the Arab Banking SAIB.

The US dollar depreciated against the Egyptian pound on an empty stomach on Thursday, September 5, 2019, for a value of 3 piastres.

The rest of the foreign currencies fell collectively against the Egyptian pound, with the exception of the pound sterling, which saw a slight rise in the number of banks at the beginning of the trading day today.

The euro lost about 18.12 pounds to buy and 18.29 pounds to sell, while the price of the pound sterling reached 20.20 pounds to buy and 20.42 pounds to sell.

The price of the Swiss franc dropped to 16.58 pounds with the purchase, 16.79 pounds for sale, the price of 100 yen at around 15.36 pounds for the purchase and 15.51 pounds for the sale.

Exchange rates have been disparate over the past period, between the top and bottom, depending on the supply and demand mechanism followed by banks operating in the local market, since the exchange rate of the pound Egyptian currency in relation to foreign currencies has been fully liberalized.
