The Tunisian government has announced that it has adopted the initiative of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, making him the first Arab country to announce it.

According to the website of the Tunisian channel “Nessma”, the Tunisian government issued a statement confirming that Tunisian Prime Minister Hisham Al-Mechishi had adopted the initiative of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, “Green Middle East”.

The statement said Al-Mashishi expressed his country’s support for this environmental initiative and full support for it, given its role in supporting global efforts to reduce global warming. In the words of the statement.

He affirmed that Tunisia will put all its experiences in the field of the environment and the protection of the oceans for the success of this path thanks to the concerted efforts of all the parties.

The statement pointed out that Al-Mushashi’s announcement followed a phone call he received this morning, Sunday, from Saudi Arabian Interior Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz.

The statement said the two sides discussed during this conversation to further strengthen Tunisian-Saudi relations and the will to develop and raise them to good levels.

According to the statement, the Saudi Minister of the Interior presented an introduction to the “Green Middle East” initiative launched by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, indicating that this initiative will chart the Kingdom and the direction of the region in matters protection of the earth and nature and placement in a roadmap with clear and ambitious milestones.

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud announced that the Kingdom will soon launch the “Saudi Arabia Green Initiative” and the “Middle East Green Initiative”, declaring: “As the first As a global oil producer, we are fully aware of our share of responsibility in advancing the fight against the crisis. “The climate, and this as represented by our pioneering role in stabilizing energy markets in the age of oil and gas, we will work to lead the next green era.”

The Crown Prince indicated the need to deal with several environmental challenges, such as high temperatures, low rainfall, heavy dust waves and desertification, which affect the economy and air pollution which reduces life. human average, thanks to the green initiative, increasing plant cover, reducing carbon emissions, combating pollution and land degradation, and preserving marine life.

The initiative will include the planting of 10 billion trees in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia over the coming decades, bringing the percentage of protected areas to over 30%, in addition to a number of initiatives aimed at protect the marine and coastal environment.
