Hurricane Idai swept the city of Pera on March 14, causing catastrophic floods and killing more than 700 people in Mozambique, Zimbabwe and Malawi.

The consequences could be even more deadly with the displacement of 1.85 million people, after the flooding of villages and the destruction of homes.

The cholera outbreak in Mozambique has spread more than once in the past five years.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 2,000 people were infected with cholera during the last epidemic, which ended in February 2018.
