The next moon will be the biggest and brightest this year, NASA announced. This phenomenon is known as the "Snow Super Moon" and will coincide with the night of Tuesday, February 19, 2019.
True, it will not be like the "lunar eclipse of the bloody wolf" of January, but it will be bigger and brighter, says Time magazine.
If that were not enough, in March, lovers of the sky and astronomy will appreciate the emergence of the super moon, so that this year 2019 there will be a total of three supermon phenomena.
The "supermun" refers to the moment when the moon is at the point closest to the Earth to its orbit, and when that happens, the moon appears larger and brighter in the sky.
The orbit of the moon is not an ideal circle, because of the gravitational forces of the sun and the earth, and its distance to the earth therefore varies throughout the year.
The term "ice moon" is the historical name given to the second full moon of winter by some Native American tribes in the United States. This is what is called the snow moon because of the usual snowfall during this time of year.
