The Huawei Watch GT debuted in October alongside the Huawei Mate 20 series, and the Chinese company seems to be preparing to do the same this year by unveiling the successor of this smart watch probably on September 19 when it will unveil Series. Huawei Mate 30 Series, that's the case if it's not already unveiled at the IFA 2019 show scheduled for later this week.
Until then, we have received today many official images of the Huawei Watch GT 2, revealing the future smartwatch for Huawei from different angles. As you can see, the Huawei Watch GT 2 does not try to invent the wheel, but it brings some distinctive, though simple, improvements over its predecessor.
It has a slightly larger screen and a smaller frame, and is generally thinner and narrower. In addition, it also has a larger battery with a capacity of 445 mAh. Note that the current Huawei Watch GT 2 includes a battery with a capacity of 420 mAh. This new smartwatch will also include a microphone and amplifier, which means that you can make direct calls via it. This leads us to wonder if there is a version that supports the cellular networks of this smartwatch.
The GPS is still present in the new smartwatch and the same goes for the heart rate sensor. As you can see in the photos, there will be two models of this new smart watch, the first one will call Huawei Watch GT 2 Sport and will feature a black rubber band, while the second will be called Huawei Watch GT 2 Classic and will include a brown leather strap. As you might expect, this new Huawei smartwatch will run Huawei's operating system in place of Google's WearOS system.
