The Israeli army commented on Qatar's historic victory in the 2019 Asian Cup, noting that Qatar had achieved a historic feat.
"Congratulations to the Qatar team for winning the 2019 Asia Cup," Israeli Army spokesman Avichay Adarai told Twitter.
"Just as the expected result in the poll, congratulations to the Qatar team for the 2019 Asian Cup … in all respects."
The Qatari team beat Japan 3-1 in a match played Friday at the Zayed Sports City stadium in the United Arab Emirates.
Al-Muez Ali scored in the 12th minute, Abdul Aziz Hatem in the 26th minute and Akram Afif in the 81st minute, while Japan's Minamino scored in the 69th minute.
With this victory, Qatar makes its first appearance in its history and is the first final to lose against Japan.
